Ruben understands what it means to be a veteran in the United States—he is one. After coming home from fighting in Iraq, Ruben experienced firsthand the need for better financial, medical, and social support to meet veteran community needs. It’s essential that we continue to honor here at home those who have sacrificed the most.

As a member of the Veterans’ Affairs Committee in Congress, Ruben has vocally supported programs to get veterans the housing, education, economic opportunity, and mental and physical health care they deserve. From successes like the Honoring Our PACT Act to provide veterans exposed to toxic burn pits needed medical care to the Alexander Lofgren Veterans in Parks Act, which allows veterans free access to our nation’s public parks and lands, Ruben remains committed to standing up for all Arizona veterans.
